KX-TVP INSTALLATION CHEAT SHEET

1.      If you have the ORIGINAL VERSION of the 624, use program 102 to specify the jacks used for the voice processor. We recommend jacks 7 and 8. You will also have to use program 103 to establish DTMF integration, or upgrade your 624 to a later version.

2.      If you have a "DASH ONE" OR LATER VERSION of the 624, use program 130 to specify  jacks 7 and 8, or program 131 for jacks 15 and 16. You must disable programs 100, 101, 102 and 103 if they were enabled.

3.      If you want phones to ring before the voice processor answers, use programs 411, 412 and 413 to delay its answering. You can select delays of 5, 10 or 15 seconds, an inaccurate timing reference that represents one, two or three rings. Make your changes for the jacks where the voice processor is plugged in.

4.      If you want calls to be answered immediately by the voice processor, use programs 408, 409, 410 to disable ringing for all phone jacks, except the jacks where the voice processor is plugged in.

Use ‘quick set up’ on TVP to allocate mailboxes etc

Program - port service – port 1 (and 2 if needed) set Company greeting to N (to avoid Good Morning/Afternoon/

Evening. Welcome to the Voice Processing System".

Set incoming call service to CUSTOM   incoming - service prompt USER 1

Delayed answer time usually 0

To light Message Waiting Lamp at message managers extension: In autoattendant parameters set operator 1 (DAY) to the extension number you want to be the message manager. This extension cannot have its own mailbox so you need to delete it from the mailbox list

Make Operators mailbox 998 or leave blank (still seems to work)

DO NOT CHANGE ANY OTHER SETTINGS EG NIGHT OPERATOR AS THIS SEEMS TO CHANGE THE DAY SETTINGS AS WELL

To get rid of : YOU HAVE A CALL on incoming calls to extensions go to:Dialing Parameters (1 - 6 - 3 - 1)

These parameters are set automatically when Quick Setup is conducted.

Transfer Sequence for the operator or the extension. By default it is set at FX on APT/DPT Integration

and FTX for Inband Integration. By default the KX-TVP50 will stay onthe line to monitor the status of the call. If the extension user answers the voice processor will announce "you have a call" prior to releasing the call. This can be alleviated by adding the

letter "A" or "D" to the sequence. "A" stands for answer; the call will be transferred without

the "you have a call" For a blind or unscreened transfer, add the letter "D" for disconnect. (A probably best)

To speed up response time:

Go to utilitys - WCID and change from 5s to 1s - this is the caller id delay 1 second is sufficient

Dial into message managers extension #6*998 to delete user 1 prompts that may be annoying
